We leave Cuzco towards Nazca. The road is still amazing, almost 2 days at more than 4000 meters high.

Nous quittons Cuzco en direction de Nazca. La route est toujours merveilleuse, pratiquement deux jours à plus de 4000 mètres d’altitude.

It’s also a long way, which means that we can enjoy a wonderful sunset before going down to Nazca.

C’est également une longue étape, ce qui nous donne donc la possibilité de profiter d’un beau coucher de soleil avant de descendre sur Nazca.

What is there to see in Nazca? Lines drawn on the ground centuries ago. They are just made by removing some stones from the ground so they are very fragile. The only way to look at them properly is to fly above them. So here we go! We have this Cessna just for us.

Qu’y a-t’il à Nazca? Des lignes, dessinées sur le sol il y a des siècles. Elles sont réalisées uniquement en retirant des pierres du sol et sont donc très fragiles. Le seul moyen de les observer correctement consiste à les survoler. Alors nous y allons! Nous avons ce Cessna rien que pour nous.

Then we leave Nazca passing through Huacachina – nice dune, but too touristic for us. We have lunch and go on.

Nous quittons Nazca en passant par Huacachina – belle dune, mais beaucoup trop touristique à notre goût. Nous déjeunons et continuons.

Next stop : Lima, where we meet Lily, Seb and newly born Hugo!

We spend an amazing time there, it’s very nice to be able to see them on the way, especially at this special moment of their lives!

Nous passons des super moments ici, c’est génial de les retrouver sur notre chemin, surtout à ce moment important de leur vie!

We want to thank again Lily’s parents for letting us stay in one of their flats. Luxury living is not so hard, after all…

Nous tenons à remercier les parents de Lily pur le prêt d’un appartement. La vie luxueuse nous convient bien, finalement…

But we can not get used to it, we still have a lot to see! So we hit the road again towards the Cordillera blanca.

Mais nous ne pouvons pas nous y habituer, nous avons encore beaucoup à voir! Alors nous reprenons la route en direction de la Cordillère blanche.

We leave the bike at the hotel in Yungai to walk a bit to the “laguna 69”. Nice trek!

Nous laissons la moto à l’hotel à Yungai pour marcher un peu vers la “laguna 69”. Très joli trek!

We are a bit shaken during the way back to the hotel.

Nous sommes un peu secoués pendant le chemin du retour dans le bus.

We leave Yungay through the Pato canyon, a canyon between the cordillera blanca and the cordillera negra. We pass through a lot of tunnels.

Nous quittons Yungay par le Canyon du pato, une gorge entre la cordillère blanche et la cordillère noire, au fond de laquelle coule le rio Pato. Nous traversons de nombreux tunnels. 

At this point the two cordilleras are just 2 meters from each other.

A cet endroit les deux cordillères ne sont plus qu’à deux mètres l’une de l’autre.

Next stop in Trujillo, for a bit of cultural sightseeing. We visited with Clara (owner from the hotel “Casa de Clara”) the huacas del sol y de la luna and the city of Chan Chan. Below is the huaca del sol, which is not studied yet.

Arrêt suivant à Trujillo, pour un peu de culture. Nous avons visité avec Clara (la propriétaire de l’hotel “casa de Clara”) les huacas del sol et de la luna et la cité de Chan Chan. Ci-dessous la huaca del sol, pas encore étudiée.

Et là, la Huaca de la Luna, une fois la terre retirée.

Second visit, the city of Chan Chan. It was the capital of the chimu empire, a pre-inca civilization. The part we can visit is dedicated to the sea, so we can see sand sculptures of fishes, sea birds,…

Deuxième visite, la cité de Chan Chan. C’était la capitale de l’empire chimu, une civilisation pré-inca. La partie que nous pouvons visiter est une ode à la mer, il y a partout des sculptures en sable représentant des poissons, des oiseaux maritimes,…  

And everywhere this pattern, which represents a fishing net.

Et partout ce motif, qui représente un filet de pêche.

Our last stop in Peru is Puerto Pizarro, a small fishing town next to the ecuadorian border.

Notre dernière étape au Pérou est Puerto Pizarro, un petit village de pêcheurs à côté de la frontière écuadorienne.

We go for a boat trip, to see many birds.

Nous partons faire une excursion en bateau, pour voir des oiseaux.

I love the Pelican’s flight.

J’adore le vol du pélican.

Then the birds’ island, very impressive and almost scary.

And for the end, a ceviche. It’s a dish made of marinated raw fish and it is excellent! We hope they make it in Ecuador too.

 

Et pour finir, un ceviche. C’est un plat de poisson cru mariné et c’est excellent! Nous espérons qu’on en trouvera aussi en Equateur!
